Overview
Convertizer provides two types of tools: browser-side tools that process data entirely on your device, and server-side tools that temporarily send files to our server for conversion. This policy explains what happens in each case.
Browser-Side Tools
The majority of Convertizer's tools (image converters, PDF tools, document parsers, encoders, and hashers) run entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. For these tools:
- Your files and data never leave your device.
- No data is uploaded to our servers.
- No data is logged, stored, or shared.
- Processing happens locally using your device's CPU and memory.
Server-Side Tools
Three tools require server-side processing: Word to PDF, Excel to PDF, and PowerPoint to PDF. For these tools:
- Your file is uploaded to our server over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
- The file is converted using LibreOffice in an isolated temporary directory.
- Both the uploaded file and the converted output are permanently deleted from the server immediately after the conversion completes or fails.
- No copies are retained. No backups are made.
- We do not inspect, read, or analyze the content of uploaded files.
- Rate limiting records your IP address temporarily (up to 5 minutes) to prevent abuse. No other identifying information is stored.
Cookies
Convertizer does not use cookies for tracking, analytics, or advertising. The site may use essential cookies if required by server infrastructure (e.g., session handling), but none are used for user profiling.
Analytics
We may use basic server-side analytics (such as web server access logs) to understand traffic patterns. These logs are rotated regularly and do not contain personal information beyond IP addresses and request paths.
Third Parties
Convertizer does not share data with third parties. No advertising networks, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics platforms are used on this site.
Data Retention
Browser-side tools: No data is ever stored by Convertizer.
Server-side tools: Files exist on the server only during the conversion process (typically a few seconds) and are deleted immediately afterward.
Rate-limit records: IP-based rate-limit files are automatically purged after 5 minutes.
