How Resizing Works
The tool loads your image in the browser and draws it at the new dimensions using the Canvas API. For downscaling, the pica library provides high-quality Lanczos resampling that avoids the blurry results you get from basic canvas resize.
With aspect ratio locked, changing one dimension automatically calculates the other. Unlock to set both independently (which may stretch or squash the image).
FAQ
What happens if I make the image larger?
Upscaling an image beyond its original dimensions will make it appear blurry. For best quality, only resize to equal or smaller dimensions.
What's the maximum size I can resize to?
Technically up to 10,000 × 10,000 pixels, but very large canvases may cause slowdowns or memory issues depending on your device.
Which format should I choose?
PNG for lossless output (good for graphics, screenshots). JPG for photos. WebP for the best file size.
